I have a BA Hons in Costume Production and worked in the theatre for a number of years but I wanted to find a way that allowed me to use my skills whilst also having a family.  Vicky Anderson Dresses was founded in 2007, the same year my eldest child was born and I worked to build the business around caring for my family.  It wasn’t until 2012 that I started to make Irish Dance costumes full time.  It was in also in this year that Alan, my partner, also joined the business.  Alan specialises in digitizing the designs for embroidery and running the embroidery machines. We currently  manufacture 2-3 dresses a week but are working on expanding this year to meet rising demand of our costumes.  Every costume is unique and is designed by me in collaboration with the client.  We take pride in our customer service and ensure that you will receive the costume of your dreams.

 

With my background in theatre costumes I have been able to apply my existing knowledge and skills to Irish Dancing.  As no two costumes are the same, I thoroughly enjoy making each costume.  I am still learning new ways to improve our dresses, constantly looking to innovate our designs and with our manufacturing techniques to achieve the best possible costumes not only in terms of appearance, but also fit and comfort for the dancer.  We have made dresses from class dresses right through to world champion level dancers.
